Purchased a heavier Kaku Lure to help cast in cross or head winds. Hoping to get more casting distance and with the added weight will be able to handle chopper weather conditions.
Kaku Lure worked well under slight cross winds. Unfortunately no strong winds in the morning. Lure cast far with some wobble in the air and splashes well when being retrieved. Works well with crank and pop technique or crank and pull. Lure moves faster than I expected on the surface so you may have to crank the reel faster or try and control the force of how you retrieve the lure to slow down the momentum.
Wanted to try out this unique style popper here in Hawaii. Seen the YouTube video on it and it works with catching GT and other types of deep sea fish so I figure I had to have it. So far its the most craziest popper I have so far. Looks really good.
The Jet Popper wasn’t the best balanced lure, heavy in the front end and back end. But still works just have to make sure you have a pole that can handle the weight of the lure. Lure is about 4-4.5oz in weight. Can get the popper at least 80yrds-100 yrds depending on how well you can power cast. Makes a big splash when hitting the water and works fabulous on the water and shines great. Just wondering how long the plastic see thru bottom will last until it breaks?
5 inch 3 oz Kaku Lure. A thicker lure with a bigger cup for larger splash works well in high winds, rough water and shallow areas. Good casting distance and well made. A fun lure to have.
Reviewing the Ice Mule back pack cooler. A great way to pack your fish from the fishing site back to your vehicle.
Testing how long a 7lb bag of ice will last.
